Anglicare at Franklin ECS

Our place of transformational learning, connection and inclusive practice.

Do you want to work at a centre where the centre philosophy drives practice? Here at Franklin Early Childhood School our philosophy can be seen in the way staff interact, engage and scaffold the children, and their families in our care.

We believe "We are one, but we are many" and this can be seen in the diversity, of not only our families and the community but our staff as well. We strive to recognise the strengths of each individual and build upon those strengths.

Our philosophy is supported by our Anglicare values and educator beliefs and is also based on research and theory. These theories about early childhood inform our practice and approach to children's learning and development, and we all draw upon a range of perspectives from various theorist's work. As educators we know that early childhood is a critical time for development, and research that shows quality early childhood programs contribute to children's resilience, ability to problem solve, social skills and their overall emotional wellbeing.

As such we are privileged to be on a journey together with families, where relationships are built on mutual respect and children are encouraged to wonder, explore, learn and experiment while in a safe, nurturing and supported environment. Inclusion and diversity underpins our practice and we strive to support, promote and embrace the cultural differences that we experience.

We believe our learning environments should reflect that children are confident and competent learners where those moments, when children discover something for the first time, or accomplish a task, are seen as significant and are valued. Here at Franklin we are committed to ensuring that your child has a sense of belonging and that their individual needs and interests are met with caring hands and an attitude of respect.
