The core mission of Anglicare (NSW South, West & ACT) is to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for children, young people and families. We have a particular focus on serving vulnerable communities in the ACT and regional, rural NSW.
Anglicare's Financial Counselling Programs provide free, face-to-face, confidential services, including one-on-one financial counselling, ongoing casework, budgeting support, and consumer education. We provide financial counselling and support to people dealing with the emotional trauma and distress caused by financial crisis. It is a comprehensive, trauma-informed, financial counselling service that assists in regaining financial independence.
About the Role
Reporting to the Coordinator of Financial Counselling, you will be responsible for providing an integrated service model that offers high-quality, trauma-informed Financial Counselling services to assist individuals and/or families in moving towards regaining financial independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver trauma-informed financial counselling to clients experiencing gambling-related financial hardship.
- Provide one-on-one counselling, casework, and consumer education.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with reporting requirements.
- Build and maintain networks to promote financial counselling services.
About You
- Accredited member of Financial Counsellors' Association of NSW (FCAN).
- Preferably hold units:
- CHCGMB501A - Work Effectively in the Problem Gambling Sector
- CHCGMB502A - Assess the Needs of Clients with Problem Gambling Issues
- CHCGMB203AS - Provide Counselling for Clients with Problem Gambling Issues
- Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) or equivalent.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
